What we collect

Account Information

Your email address and display name when you sign in. Used to identify your account.

Preferences & Interests

Topics, entities, and categories you follow. Used to personalise your feed.

Bookmarks & Activity

Stories you bookmark and entities you follow. Stored to your account so it syncs across devices.

Usage Analytics

Interaction events such as screens, article opens, follows, and bookmarks. Used to improve reliability and product quality.

Device Information

Platform, OS version, and app version. Used for crash reporting and compatibility.

How we use it

Everything we collect has a specific, limited purpose. Here’s the full picture:

  • Personalise your feed and surface relevant content
  • Save your preferences and sync them across devices
  • Understand which features work and which need improvement
  • Diagnose crashes and fix bugs quickly
  • Send notifications you explicitly opt in to

We do not sell your data, use your reading history for advertising, or share identifiable data with third parties for commercial advertising.

News content processing

SoftFeeder analyzes public news signals and source coverage to organize stories, identify entities and topics, estimate sentiment, and generate short AI-assisted summaries.

We show headlines, source names, brief teasers, signals, and links back to the original publishers. We do not present full publisher articles as SoftFeeder content; when you choose to read an article, we open the publisher page.

Third-party services

SoftFeeder uses a small number of trusted infrastructure providers. Each has been evaluated for data handling practices.

Firebase (Google)

Authentication, crash reporting, analytics, and remote app configuration

Firebase may process authentication identifiers, app diagnostics, analytics events, and configuration signals needed for those services to function.

Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. Product analytics and diagnostics are retained according to our Firebase configuration and provider settings. When you delete your account, personal account data is scheduled for removal.

Account deletion
